An Interdisciplinary Curriculum Focused on International Context

Meet the Needs of a Complex Global Landscape

In an increasingly competitive business world, organizations and leaders need to be able to work across borders, disciplines, and issues to perform on a global scale. Businesses do not operate in a vacuum, and external issues ranging from climate change to public health crises to political volatility need to be part of the decision-making of every business leader.

With an online Master of Global Business Administration (GBA) from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, you will build core business skills as well as knowledge of international politics, law, and economics to ensure your organization is ready to handle complex risks and opportunities.

Fletcher’s GBA curriculum merges traditional business skills with the international affairs knowledge necessary to apply them effectively worldwide. You will take courses in four main disciplines—Business Foundations, Global Context, International Law, and Analytical Tools—and customize the remainder of your program with electives.

The GBA program can be completed in 24 months on a part-time schedule (recommended for full-time working professionals) and 16 months on a full-time schedule.

In-Person Immersion Experiences

As part of the program, you will attend two in-person immersions: one on the Tufts University campus in the Medford/Boston area and one in a relevant international location that is decided each cohort.

The program culminates in a capstone lab, where you will solve a global business challenge for a real organization. The capstone project is kicked off at the on-campus immersion.

The Fletcher School Experience—Delivered Online

The structure of the online GBA allows you to cultivate ready-to-use business skills while continuing to work. As a student in the program, you will:

  • Develop specialized skills during HD-streaming, live online classes, informed by interactive, multimedia course content.
  • Grow as a leader under the guidance of Fletcher faculty, who are Fortune 500 advisers, extensively published authors, chief economists, and retired law firm partners.
  • Access research and ideas from the Institute for Business in the Global Context (IBGC), which provides opportunities for meaningful dialogue at the intersection of business and international affairs.
  • Receive dedicated career support and join a powerful alumni network, composed of ambassadors, heads of state, nonprofit directors, and military leaders.

Because the GBA is an advanced program, we recommend—though do not require—that applicants have eight years or more of full-time professional experience.
