Jeswald Salacuse

Background
Jeswald W. Salacuse, a Tufts Distinguished Professor and Henry J. Braker Professor of Law, served as dean of The Fletcher School for nine years. Previously, he was dean of Southern Methodist University’s law school. His teaching and research interests include international negotiation, law and development, and international investment law.
Throughout his career, Salacuse has been a Wall Street lawyer, a lecturer in law at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, a professor and research director at the National School of Administration in the Congo, and the Ford Foundation’s Middle East adviser on law and development based in Lebanon. He has also served as a visiting professor of law at Harvard Law School.
Salacuse is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the American Law Institute, and the executive committee and faculty of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. He is also chairman of both the India Fund and the Asia Tigers Fund and president and member of international arbitration tribunals of the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
Salacuse holds his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
Professor Salacuse’s newest book, Real Leaders Negotiate, forms the foundation of his course in the Global Business Administration program.
