Background

Martin Furlong champions the integration of global business and sustainable development. As a professor and consultant, he equips leaders to reimagine conscious enterprise and unlock the powerful impact of stakeholder systems.

In his current role as Strategic Partner at Conscious Business Network, Martin advises organizations on upgrading their business models to succeed in the 21st-century economy. He guides them towards achieving profitability through purpose, building strong stakeholder relationships, cultivating a responsible culture, nurturing a caring leadership, and ultimately, creating lasting systemic value. Martin draws upon his dual expertise as a lawyer and a certified conscious business consultant to effectively manage stakeholder engagement and sustainable business ecosystems. He contributes extensive experience in crafting communication strategies, resolving conflicts, and forging strong institutional relationships. His deep understanding encompasses the needs and priorities of diverse stakeholders, from value chains and investors to industry associations, government bodies, diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and both non-profit and international organizations.

A renowned international educator, Martin brings his global insights to the classroom at EGADE Business School, Monterrey Institute of Technology (TEC). There, he serves as a key contributor to a pioneering climate governance program in collaboration with Chapter Zero Mexico. His strategic direction empowers boards and senior management to adopt best practices in stakeholder engagement. He also advances sustainability efforts at TEC by implementing programs for the Conscious Enterprise Centre. At Tufts Fletcher School, Martin leads the Global Business Administration (GBA) immersion program in Latin America. This program enables executives to delve into the multifaceted world of ESG considerations. Through his support, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of how stakeholder engagement intersects with critical issues such as energy transition and environmental/social impact. His role goes beyond program management, as he specializes in teaching global business and sustainability.

He holds a JD from Universidad de Buenos Aires, an LLM from University of Virginia, and MA in International Business Relations & Certificate in Sustainability, both from Tufts Fletcher School.
